Sponsorship of both amateur and professional teams and associations has been an integral part of our business.  WELSH HOCKEY UNION AND SARAH THOMAS
 

Sportscover Europe is proud to sponsor the Welsh Hockey Union who have had great success in recent times and this has been demonstrated in the selection of Sarah Thomas to the GB Olympic squad competing in Beijing later this summer.

Sarah, the only female Welsh representative in the GB squad, has come through the ranks from starting at the tender age of 12 and has represented Wales at U16 to senior level. Sarah currently plays her club hockey for Rotterdam in the Netherlands.

With Sportscover’s support as her main sponsor Sarah has been able to maintain her pre Olympic training at Bisham Abbey with the rest of the GB squad, competing in the various warm up matches and tours ready for the biggest summer of her life.

Sportscover's desire to assist community sports led to the creation of the Sportscover Sponsorship Fund (SSF) as an avenue to sponsor a wide variety of amateur sports men and women, striving to achieve sporting greatness across a broad cross-section of sports.

Over the last few years, the SSF has donated 50 x $1000 grants to grass-roots sporting clubs and associations. Please note the SSF is not currently accepting applications. However if you would like to be informed of future sponsorship opportunities with Sportscover, please register your details below.

 SPORTSCOVER CYCLING TEAM
 


 

Sportscover has been involved in cycling for many years, running a professional team in Australia and sponsoring several national teams such as the United Kingdom and New Zealand, in the Commonwealth Bank Cycle Classic road race between 1994 and 1998.

Sportscover team members have included riders such as English champions John Tanner (British Olympian) and Chris Lillywhite, 1998 Commonwealth Games Gold Medallist Australian Jay Sweet and the Hong Kong star and mountain climbing specialist Kam-po Wong.

Sportscover Cycle Racing Team was re launched in 2007 and is a mix of vast experience and emerging talent.
In spite of their impressive palmares the team are very ambitious and enthusiastic. They will be targeting the Premier calendar series of events and the National Road Championships in the UK and Europe.

They will be exciting to watch as they are all aggressive attacking riders who make racing happen.
Whilst they are all proven winners they are also all team players and understand how to support one another during races so team wins are high on the agenda.

 WORLD ARTISTIC ROLLER SKATING CHAMPIONSHIPS

After over a decade of involvement with the Victorian Amateur Football Association (VAFA), Sportscover Australia is proud to become the 'Sole Major Sponsor' of this amateur football association once again supporting grass roots sport in our community. In addition, Sportscover has naming rights to 'Sportscover Arena' - Home of the VAFA, formerly Main Oval Elsternwick Park.

 2003 AUSTRALIA CUP
 





Sportscover is pleased to have contributed to the success of the 'Australia Cup' Softball Championships held at Blacktown Olympic Park during Easter 2003. In conjunction with the National Fastpitch Softball League, seven teams competed for the title which was taken by the NSWIS Blues team who defeated QAS Heatwave 5-1.

NSWIS Blues and QAS Heatwave won the right to contest the 2003 Australia Cup after defeating Canberra Cardinals (6-0 v NSWIS Blues) and VIS Titans (5-4 v QAS Heatwave) in semi final games earlier in the day.

 SEA QUEST KAYAKING ODYSSEY
 


Donna Edye has pledged to be the first female to kayak solo down the east coast waters of Australia in aid of Mental Health. She will paddle from Cooktown to Belmore Basin, Wollongong NSW in an expedition sea kayak, a journey over 4000 kilometres of coast line.

The driving force behind this expedition is to raise awareness and much needed funds for medical research into two of the worlds major mental illnesses -Schizophrenia and Bipolar Disease. Sportscover is pleased to be a part of this worthwhile cause and wishes Donna every success for the event in October 2002.

The partnership between Greg Woodrow Racing and Sportscover has expanded globally with the running of the Formula Ford World Titles at brands Hatch in the UK.

Sportscover along with Revolution Racegear have backed current Australian Formula Ford champion Luke Youlden at his first attempt at this prestigious race meeting.

 RECLINK
 

Recreational Link (Reclink) began in Melbourne in 1990 to bring recreational activity within the reach of men and women who experience social disadvantage.

Some of the most common types of disadvantage experienced by participants are homelessness, unemployment, substance abuse and addiction, poverty, loneliness, boredom, behavioural disorders and mental illness.

Reclink is a non-profit incorporated association which recognises that everyone has the right to gain access to recreational opportunities and associated benefits which flow from this.
