Australia and New Zealand Insurance Industry Awards finalists announced

The Australia and New Zealand Insurance Industry Awards Judging Panel are proud to announce the finalists for the 2007 awards.

The Awards, now in their fourth year, unite the entire insurance industry in celebration of excellence and achievement and are presented by the Australian and New Zealand Institute of Insurance and Finance (ANZIIF) and founding partners Asia Insurance Review.

Joan Fitzpatrick, ANZIIF CEO and Chair of the Judging Panel said announcing the finalists was an important step in recognising an impressive field. 'The decision to announce the top three companies in each category was made to further acknowledge the achievements of these high performing organisations in the lead up to the awards,' she said.

Ms Fitzpatrick added that only those submissions that were deemed to be of a suitably high standard have been included in the list of finalists.

'Being announced as a finalist is an achievement in and of itself and something to be very proud of, so we will not be handing out finalist status without an appropriate standard being met,' Ms Fitzpatrick said. 'For example, if there are only two submissions of a significant calibre then there will only be two finalists announced in that category.'

In the event of only one awards submission scoring high enough with the judges there will be no finalist announced for that category.

Due to the individual nature of the Insurance Leader of the Year category, and the exemplary achievements and leadership of those nominated, six finalists will be named each year.
