Sportscover Australia appoint new CEO

Sportscover Australia is delighted to announce the appointment of Simon Allatson as Chief Executive Officer. Simon takes up the position on 1st May and will be based in Sportscover’s Melbourne office.
Sportscover’s Managing Director, Chris Nash commented, “This is a really exciting time for Sportscover, with the sports market going through a transformation generally in a number of areas such as women’s sport, technological advances and funding changes, we believe Simon is well placed to give us an even greater affinity with our clients and their needs going forward. After an exhaustive selection process that included many first class applicants from both the insurance and sports worlds, I am delighted that Simon is joining the company”.
Simon has been in the sports and not-for profit sector for over 25 years and has performed a number of senior roles including Executive Director at New Zealand Tennis, Executive Director at Australian Swimming, CEO of Athletics Australia and CEO of the Sydney Kings. He has also been a board member of both the Australian and New Zealand Commonwealth Games Associations and is a recipient of the Australian Sports Medal for services to the sports industry.
Simon has a Master of Business Administration and Bachelor of Arts.
Commenting on his appointment, Simon said, “I am very excited to be taking on this role with such a dynamic and successful company as Sportscover. I have watched and admired their progression over the years and so it is great to now be part of the team.”
Sportscover has been expanding the number of countries in the region in which they do business and Simon will have a major role in continuing this work and strengthening Sportscover’s brand within these markets.
